Dr. Julie Johnson, PhD, RN, FAAN, passed away on September 13, 2020. Julie was a leader and active member of WIN for over 30 years. She served multiple terms on the Board of Governors, including six years as Treasurer, and chaired the Program Committee of the 28th Annual Communicating Nursing Research Conference. Julie was inducted into the Western Academy of Nurses (WAN) in 1996 and was presented with the honorary designation of WIN Emeritus in 2016, in recognition of her distinguished service to the organization. Julie served as Dean and Professor at both the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing & Dental Hygiene and Kent State University College of Nursing. She also served as Director and Professor at the Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno; Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the University of Utah College of Nursing; and Interim Director and Enriquez Endowed Professor at New Mexico State University School of Nursing. Julie touched so many throughout her life of service and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and colleagues.
