DEI Conference Awards

WIN’s Mission: Connecting a diverse community of nurses in the West to improve health through excellence in research, practice, and education.

WIN is committed to structuring opportunities to advance health equity in the West and specifically to promoting health equity through WIN programming, developing nurse leaders from diverse populations, and increasing the number of monetary awards focusing on health disparities in the West.

In 2024, WIN will grant awards/waive the conference registration fee for one student and one practicing nurse from an historically underrepresented group in nursing to attend the annual conference.

Candidates will be asked to submit the following:

  • Application
  • A personal statement (maximum 1/2 page, single space) which describes self-identification with an historically underrepresented group in nursing
  • A personal statement (maximum 1/2 page, single space) which describes reasons for attending the WIN conference, anticipated benefits for professional development, and how the applicant will contribute to the organization
  • Resume or curriculum vitae

Materials must be submitted to the WIN office by February 1.  Award recipients will be notified in mid-February.
