Qualitative research seeks to gain a deep understanding of how individuals and groups experience social phenomena within their natural setting, and reveals how meaning is assigned to every day experiences with subsequent impact to health behaviors. This WIN forum provides space to bring together qualitative nursing scholars, students and others who are interested in this approach to knowledge discovery. It will provide opportunities to network, dialog about possible collaborations, discuss best practices to teach qualitative research approaches to graduate students, and explore potential new areas of inquiry. This special interest group thus contributes to the mission of WIN to provide visionary leadership in nursing research, practice and education.
