A Message from WIN's President - January 2026

WIN News,

Happy New Year!

We hope to see you at the 2026 conference in San Francisco in April. Registration is now available on the website, and the full conference program will be posted later this month. Register by February 15 to receive an early registration discount.

In 2027, the Western Institute of Nursing will celebrate a powerful milestone in Bellevue, Washington—the 60th anniversary of the annual Communicating Nursing Research conference. To honor six decades of advancing nursing science, we have launched a 60 x 60 Campaign, a bold challenge to raise $60,000 by the 60th anniversary. Every dollar raised will directly support the WIN Endowment Fund, which was established in 2019 to support the annual WIN awards and joint research grants. And every dollar raised up to $60,000 will be matched!

When you give to the 60 x 60 Campaign, you are investing in the collective strength of the WIN nursing community—past, present, and future. Together, we can uplift emerging scholars across institutions, celebrate excellence throughout our profession, and support nurses across the Western region who are driving meaningful change to advance health. Joining this campaign means standing with your colleagues to ensure that the impact of WIN continues to grow for generations to come. Your investment today helps shape the next 60 years of nursing excellence.

Other announcements:

  • Nursing Research subscriptions for WIN members will transition to online only in 2026, and print distribution of the journal will be suspended. This transition is part of WIN’s ongoing efforts to become a more eco-friendly association. Going forward, WIN members may access the Nursing Research journal by logging in to the WIN website (Member Compass).
  • An updated version of WIN Bylaws has been approved by the Board of Governors and posted on the website here. Two town halls will be held via videoconference to present the updates and to answer questions from the general membership. Stay tuned for dates and times of the town halls.
  • Contributions to the 60 x 60 campaign can be made through the WIN website here. On-site giving opportunities will be offered at the 2026 conference in San Francisco.

Thank you for supporting WIN and best wishes for the New Year.
