Faculty Student Success Coach Position Description

Position Summary

The Faculty Tutor/Student Success Coach serves as a dedicated faculty member providing individualized and group-based student success services that promote academic achievement, retention, progression, NCLEX readiness, and timely graduation. Working collaboratively with course faculty, student services, and accessibility support services, this faculty member delivers evidence-informed coaching and tutoring strategies designed to enhance students' learning skills, test-taking performance, learning development, and overall success in the BSN.

While course faculty remain responsible for content-specific instruction and remediation within their courses, the Faculty Tutor/Student Success Coach provides supplemental support focused on academic success strategies, learning science, time management, study skills, NCLEX preparation/benchmarking, clinical reasoning development, accommodations guidelines, and navigation of available student support resources.

The position works with Faculty Affairs (Experiential Learning Coordinators), Department Chairs (Course Coordinators), and various Task Forces/Working Groups (NCLEX, Benchmarking/Bac Fac) for continuous program and quality improvement opportunities as the role evolves.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license or eligibility for licensure in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing education, clinical practice, or student support experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing curriculum, NCLEX preparation, and student success strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience working with student populations.
